Recreation Facilities
Salmon Arm and the Shuswap area is truly an all season recreation area. Opportunities exist in virtually all areas of sports and recreation with excellent facilities available. Group sports and activities include baseball, football, soccer, hockey, lawnbowling, cricket, curling, skating, indoor bowling, basketball, badminton, raquetball, squash, mini golf, square dancing, speed skating, paddling, skateboarding and waterslides. Playing fields are located throughout the city and in various parks.
Sunwave Centre
Salmon Arm's Multi-use recreation complex offers many amenities to a wide varienty of events.
The two NHL regulation size arenas have doubled the available ice time for public skating,
figure skating and hockey. For the past eight years the Sunwave Centre has been hometo the
Salmon Arm SilverBacks Junior A hockey team. The team plays in the Interior Division
of the British Columbia Hockey League.
The recreational arena will be available for skating year round
and the main arena has seating for 1500 hundred spectators.
The main arena is also available for other sporting activities
such as roller blading, basketball and soccer camps.
This spacious area also provides the perfect venue for trade
shows, conventions fundraising, seminars and much more.

SASCU Recreation Centre
Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union Memorial Sports Complex
is home to indoor soccer and lacrosse. The 100ft x 200ft indoor playing surface is also used for football, rugby, archery and baseball, along with other off ice activities. The aquatic centre contains a 25 metre indoor pool, hot tub and sauna, wading pool and diving tank as well as other fitness options. The facility also offers squash and racquetball courts, and an auditorium/gym.
Little Mountain Sports Complex
This outdoor facility has three playing fields used for soccer, rugby and football. With the addition of the powerfull night lighting this facility can be used well into the evening. The clubhouse and meeting room are also available for rent.
