Today tourism plays a major role in the economy although the farming and fruit growing that gave Salmon Arm its start continue to be important and have adapted to appeal to visitors. The Salmon Arm Visitor Centre, which is located in the heart of Salmon Arm, the Visitor Centre is situated in a beautiful heritage building referred to as the "Old Courthouse". It has retained much of it's former heritage appearance, making it's space warm, friendly and easily accessible.
