Sledding in the Shuswap
 
The Shuswap boasts seven excellent sledding areas, with many of the mountains groomed to give you a smooth ride to the alpine. Play in the awesome fresh mounds of powder, and try the challenging climbs and bowls. Our hills are perfect for new sledders, touring families fun riders and thrill seekers. Many of the areas offer day use chalets. 
 
Fly Hills (Salmon Arm)
If you like wide open spaces and safe trails then Fly Hills Snowmobile and Recreation area is for you. Just 10 minutes west of downtown Salmon Arm, this large region encompasses
approximately 50 square kilometers and offers panoramic views of Shuswap Lake and the Salmon River Valley. The area is well mapped and has been managed since the 1970's by The Salmon Arm Snow Blazers Club. The club charges a reasonable trail fee, that can be put in the collection box at the chalet in good faith or given to an attendent in the parking lot.
 
Owlhead (Sicamous) 
This popular area features a great chalet and varied riding terrain for everyone, from novice to the extreme sledder. Its high elevation ensure good riding into late spring.
 
Blue lake (Sicamous)

Queest (Sicamous)
This well established hill has a comfortable chalet and 35 square km of country with deep powder and exciting hill climbs. The access view have wonderful views of Eagle Valley and Shuswap and Mara Lakes.The elevation is over 2000 meters allowing for great sledding well into the spring.
 
Sicamous Area and Eagle Valley
With four spectacular riding areas and over 100 km of groomed and ungroomed trails, Sicamous and area is a snowmobiling hot spot. This award winning area features wide open sub-alpine and alpine terrain at elevations of over 2000 meters, suitable for beginner riders to experts.Check out www.sledsicamous.com 
 
Crowfoot Mountain (North Shuswap)
This fantastic and relatively undiscovered sledding area is located along the North Shore of Shuswap Lake.
      
Spa Hills (Falkland Area)
This expansive sledding area includes approximately 80 km of marked trails near Bolean, Arthur and Spa Lakes.Trails also connect to the Fly hills riding area.

Larch Hills Nordic Society
The Larch Hills cross-country ski area, 20 km from Salmon Arm, is home to some of BC's finest ski trails. With 125 km of trails in the 1065 to 1220m range, about 43 km of which are trackset, there is no shortage of variety for the Nordic ski enthusiast. Go to www.skilarchhills.ca
